THEN~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My Mom and I went thrifting last week.
Marva (a local resale shop) had 50% off everything in the store! SCORE!!!!!

I am moving to 4th grade this year and their theme is Rock n Roll. I was told to be on the look out for records. Well I have been looking but they are not cheap...that is until I went to Marva!!!
I found 100 records for $5.

The pitcher was $4 and 3 birdcages were $5 sized small, medium, and large.
Notice the lazy susan that I bought in Kansas? Pretty blue......

This is my front porch redo for Summer. Thought the stool matched and was a great place to prop your feet up and watch the action.

The other side of my porch with my other stool!
I have already used this stool while watching a thunderhead move in! FUN!!!!

See?? My amazing hubby sitting on our porch watching
the storm with the glow of citronella candles!

Summer List

Meg from http://megduerksen.typepad.com/whatever/ creates a summer list for her kids. I LOVE the idea so we made one today! Zak, Mommy, and Daddy listed things we wanted to do this Summer! You can tell who wants to do what! :-) It is hanging in our hall so Zak can see it every day! This will help me stay motivated to get out and do stuff this summer in between workshops, classes, and getting a classroom ready!
I can't wait to get started!!!!!! Only 2 and 1/2 days of school left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GuEsT rOoM/cRaFt RoOm/SoN's BaThRoOm

My daughter graduated and moved out all in the same week! It has been a whirlwind! I was able to redecorate her bathroom as a transportation theme for my son.

I made these poster and painted them. (Much cheaper than buying them...and cuter I think!)
My mom suggested putting this above the toilet....Zak said, "Momma...sorry but I had to park"! Ha!!! He's almost six!!!

I thought using floor mats was cute...and it was but not practical! Water was EvErYwHeRe!!! THe basket in the corner was a $5 find at a flea market. It's his laundry basket. The stool is HEAVY and free from my school!
Another sign, lamp, and accessories from his room.
Got the red cup, soap container, and liquid soap container from $ Tree!!!
The shower curtain is actually an $8 flat sheet from Wal-Mart. There
is a waterprrof curtain behind the sheet.
Added some colorful towels and more accessories! Notice the sign on the door...restroom sign!
Added blue rugs....much better!!!!!!!

Now for my guest/craft room!!!!!!!!
Remember all this????

it is now this...............
This is the closet. I added baskets that I got on clearance at Wal-mart! $1.50 each.

I needed a lamp and found this white one in another room It was a little too bland so I added ribbon from $tree! $2 for ribbon.

My craft table! The crib mattress spring was free from my dad's house.
Got the cup holder from a flea market $1, and 4 cups from $tree $1 each!
I had or made everything else.
The shelf above my window holds cute pictures and containers. The pretty yellow ones were from my hubby from Mother's Day.
The curtains are a flat sheet cut in half, again, $8 from wal-mart.
Remember this ugly white cabinet..........
Amazing what a little paint and a wonderful hubby can do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This pink beauty now holds all my magazines, fabric, and ideas!
Closet door with my wooden ladder.
I beautiful quilt and clip boards on wall holds pictures.

My head board! I had to buy the pillow cases for $11. The doors were free from various rooms in my house! Added a clothesline of fabric for color. The dresser is at the foot of the bed and houses towels, toiletries, and wrapping supplies. The canisters were $5 from school!
View from the door! I LoVe my room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well....that's my new room! I did it all for $500!!!!!!
Not bad considering I had to buy all new furniture!

CrAiGsLiSt!!!!!!!

My daughter is getting ready to graduate High School and will be moving in with her sister who is already in college. Sooooo, that meant I finally get a guest room/office/craft room!!!! Where did I go to find nice furniture at a good price? Craigslist baby!!!!! After searching for several weeks I finally found my gem. I will save the best for last........

The wife was gone so hubby was giving stuff away. Here take this...want that...what about this? Seriously, we ran out of room!!!!! This is a picture of my floorboard....full of toys and wash cloths.

A view of the back of the truck. A queen pillow top bed was five years old and rarely slept on. Came with frames and a waterproof mattress pad.

Box o books. Mainly to decorate with but some are good reads! The stool was a must have. It was sitting on his front porch and I asked if I could have it...sure...go ahead!

This sewing kit was from the 70s. I love it!!! Plan on painting it red!!!!!!

These night stands are what caught my eye wen I first saw the list. Love them!! Ice box I think is what they are called. I switched out my tables in the master bedroom for these beauties!!!The best part......a 9 drawer dresser made from solid cherry!!!!!!!!

Isn't she lovely!!!!!!!!! I was going to paint it but I can't do it!! Maybe I will just switch the hardware out!

He also threw in 6 pillows and a cot! Wonder how much I paid for all this...............................

$300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's right! Now I just wait until I can prepare my new room!!!!!!! Pics when it is finished!!!!

Yes....my classroom again!!!!!!!!

I spent 6 hours in my classroom rearranging, packing, and organizing!
My cabinet looks so clean and so much room!!!

My new cubby!! Well, it's not really new. I have been using it as a class library but decided to repurpose it! The old metal file cabinet now hold all my units and is hidden behind a shelf. Signs need to be made and hung on the baskets but not today!
Notice I was still able to decorate with pictures and knick knacks!
This is a view from the door of the entire room. Our desks are separated for testing and I really dislike this arrangement!
My desk area. I had the blue cubby where the hutch is but it was too busy to be the first thing seen as you enter the room.
Reading area....my class library is now in the long shelves. Not sure I will like them being in the way of the reading area. We shall see. It feels cozy!!! Hope the kids like it!
The recliner used to be here. Now I have an extra table for markers, morning work, and such. All my hidden treasures are behind the wood on the left.
The "mini-kitchen"....all this was behind my desk and made things look too crowded. This makes my counter space look clean and organized!
Another view of my area. I want to get a hall tree for the area by the window to hold my stuff. The tool boxes house all my prizes for the kiddos.
I got rid of SeVeN boxes of stuff! Now I won't have too much to move this summer. Still A LOT but better than before!
Well, there you have it. Yes...I change things all the time! I have OCCTD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder To Decorate) and I need meds but they aren't approved by the FDA yet. Hehehehhe.....I really enjoy changing things!
SSsoooosoossssoooo....what do you think? Too busy??

Last but not least...a few finds. My hubby and I went thrifting with some friends and I found some pretty good things.
I Rosettes (I think) $.67 each, paint $1.50, magazine $.25, 3 books for my new classroom $1.00 each, bowl $1.00, ace bandages $.54, hairspray for my purse (bottle can be reused) $.64, a salsa CD to inspire me to workout, and a tool box (not shown) asked $1.50 I asked $1.00. Not too shabby!!!!
That's my week. Spring Break is over tomorrow. It's bittersweet! Ready for a routine but ReAlLy enjoy sleeping in! Oh well! Have a great week!
